Customer Event 2023

Last week, Northwest hosted its annual customer event at Topgolf in Oklahoma City. The skies were clear, and the temperature was just right. There could not have been more perfect day for swinging clubs, eating delicious food, and enjoying great company.

Our event woudn't have been a succes without our all-star team of sponsors: Architectural SurfacesBluelinxColossal Diamond ToolsDW DistributionFabstoneHardware ResourcesKwiksetSoci, and Spectrum Paint. These vendors knocked it out of the park by engaging with our customers and providing information about their high-quality products.

Registration & Lunch

Upon arrival, our registration team greeted every customer and signed them into the event. Staying on theme, our event gift this year was a branded silicone cup (handy for a day on the golf course), a golf ball, tees, and a golf towel featuring our sponsors' logos. The gift also included five tickets for door prizes and an explanation of the two games customers would participate in during the event. After registration, guests entered the event space, and the aroma of fajitas filled the air. Fajita chicken and beef tacos, chips and queso, cilantro lime rice, refried beans, salad, and more were a delicious start to our event. Once everyone had their fill, it was time to start the games!

Grand Prize Game: Poker Run

Every customer event we host includes a game element for our customers to earn tickets for door prizes and engage with our vendors. In previous years, customers were entered into our grand prize drawing when they signed into the event; however, this year Northwest upped the stakes—we took a gamble—we held a poker run! Our customers earned cards for their poker hand by visiting each vendor and answering a trivia question about their products. The customer with the best poker hand and the highest throwaway card won the grand prize. What was the grand prize, you may ask? A $250 gift card to the Omni Hotel’s steak house, Bob’s Steak and Chop House, box seat tickets to an OKC Thunder game, and a fan gift, which included two autographed pictures of players.
The vendors' booths lined the edge of the room, allowing customers to easily chat with them. Each booth had a different color or patterned card deck to ensure players had seven different cards. Conversations were flowing, and the competition was heating up as customers started turning in their hands to registration. In the end, a royal flush won the day! This game was very entertaining and a huge hit!

Driving for Tickets: Tickets Game

Since we had the event at Topgolf, we were obligated to play a golfing game, right? In order to earn tickets, our customers went head-to-head with each other and our vendors. Hitting a ball against a vendor received two tickets, hitting it further than the vendor received four tickets, and having the furthest drive out of your group received one extra ticket. While lunch was taking place, our sales team also generously handed out tickets. Customers received tickets right and left, which gave them plenty of chances to win a door prize. Outside the ticket game, there was fun, laughter, and friendly competition that made the day one to remember.

Door Prizes & Wrap Up

It wouldn’t be a Northwest Customer Event without some great door prizes. There were TVs, tech, hunting equipment, gift cards, and, of course, golfing gear. One memorable moment was when the customer who won our TV at last year’s event proved their luck by winning it again this year. We also announced who had the best poker hand and won the grand prize of dinner and OKC Thunder tickets.
Once door prizes were gone, we wrapped up the event. Some customers stayed to continue playing while we had the space, and others returned to work or home. During these last minutes, our team let out a collective breath and celebrated another great year.
